Q. How much do these systems cost?

A. For the latest pricing visit our new Quote Manager page. Fill in the form and a quotation will be automatically generated. We constantly monitor the price of our component costs - the recent strong £ has reduced the effective price considerably - which we pass directly onto our customers.

Q. Do I have to manually synchronise the multichannel playback pictures-like I have to do with my VCRs?

A. No - Our innovative packet format, together with our directshow player's triple channel synchronise picture playback with one simple click of the mouse!

Q. I have data which I would also like to record at the same time as the video - is this possible?

A. Yes - the NAV input wizard can be used to capture the data from a RS232 input signal. This information is then databased, synchronised and stored with the video. It is displayed numerically with the video review-but can be exported for graphical plotting or processing.

Q. I would like to record and store video clips for many years - if I use the NETmc systems, how can I be sure of future compatability and data replay?

A. We use standard video recording and tape writing formats which are regulated by governing bodies - not individual companies like Microsoft. We champion the use of MPEG2 as the recording format. Thanks to the huge popularity of DVD movies (which are also MPEG2) we can be assured that this format will remain supported in mainstream products for at least 10 years with specialist companies continuing to support after that. Tapes are written using TAR format - which is an IEEE controlled format and has been used native to UNIX and Linux systems for many years.

Q. Would we need any specialist training to be able to use these systems?

A. No - our systems are very easy to use and require no specialist knowledge. Controls are icon based and should be familiar to any PC or MAC user. Complex controls can be configured by an experienced user and password protected to prevent any inadvertent changing during the job.

Q. I require 24/7 operation - how reliable are the systems?

A. Our mediaVTs (the encoder element from our DVR units) have a long service history in the media and multimedia sector. Continuous up-times of over 5000 hours, in temperatures of up to 60 degrees C set an industry leading standard! The latest embedded 'desk-less' units look set to push the reliability and transmit damage immunity to a new level.

Q. My old VCRs were made by Sony and Panasonic - do these manufacturers not provide similar digital solutions?

A. The multi-national manufacturers have now started to dabble in digital video recording. They provide a range of units which each address different elements of the whole problem but no complete solution exists. E.g. Digital tape records exist as direct replacements for VHS units - although recording digitally and resolving quality and degradation issues - the review process is still not random access, no cross channel synchronisation or databasing exists. DVD-RW units are now available which offer random access to the video but again no cross channel sync or database feature-with the added disadvantage of being recommended for light domestic-non critical recording only!

Q. To buy one of these systems is a considerable investment....can I save money by moving away from VHS?

A. NETmc's digital systems will save you time through efficiency of use. From an online recording point of view, there is no need to change tapes- thus saving time. Review and editing is now a simple operation with batch processing which can take place overnight or between shifts for maximum efficiency.

The client deliverable product is value added - which lifts the profile and demand of the service, resulting in repeat business.

Q. How can my client view the triple synchronised material?

A. Using our special client viewer - which allows triple chanel playback with embedded data. It can be used on almost any recent PC (500MHz +) and can be downloaded from our web site.
